Poland and Russia will face off in the Men's Volleyball Quarterfinals on Wednesday at 2:30 p.m. ET/7:30 p.m. GMT.
Russia comes into the match as the favorite.
They took Pool A by storm as they only lost one match. Despite a great Olympic performance, Russia finished in third place in the Pool B standings. Brazil and the U.S. were stronger teams in the pool.
Russia tallied 11 points in their five matches. They won 12 out of the 17 sets they played in the Olympics.
The Russian team's journey for gold began against Germany. They beat them 3-0. They hit a minor bump against Brazil, who finished them off in three sets.
Russia finished the Olympic qualifiers with three straight victories. They defeated Tunisia 3-0, went through a brutal match against the U.S. which resulted in a 3-2 victory and then finished off the Serbs 3-0 in the last game of the first round.
Poland finished in second place in their pool as they tallied 9 points in their five matches after finished the first round with a 3-2 record.
The Polish team started out with a 3-1 victory over the Italians. They lost against Bulgaria 1-3 and then went on to win two in a row as they shutout Argentina and Great Britain 3-0.
In their last match of the preliminaries, Team Australia beat Poland 3-1.
