Olympics 2012 Track and Field Results: Allyson Felix Takes Gold in 200m as USA Wins Five Medals in Three Events on Wednesday

The U.S. had eight racers participating in the three track and field events that took place on Wednesday and five of them walked away with a medal. Allyson Felix and Aries Merrit highlighted the race for the Americans as they took the gold in the Women's 200m and Men's 110m Hurdles respectively.

Felix finished the 200m in 21.88. She was followed by Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce who came in second and fellow American Carmelita Jeter finished in third to take the bronze. 

Merrit finished the 110m hurdles in 12.92. Fellow teammate Jason Richardson, no not the basketball player, finished in second to take the silver and Hansle Parchment of Jamaica took the bronze with a third place finish.

The only race the United States did not take gold in was in the Women's 400m Hurdles. Natalya Antyukh finished in first giving the gold to Russia. She finished the race in 52.70, for a personal best. American Lashinda Demus came in second for the silver and Zuzana Hejnova took home the bronze.
