Olympics 2012 Women's Indoor Volleyball Results: USA Defeats South Korea, Will Play in Finals

USA's Indoor Volleyball team defeated South Korea in three straight sets 25-20, 25-22, 25-22 advancing to the 2012 Olympics Volleball Finals at London. 

Destinee Hooker led the Americans to victory as she had 21 spikes and 3 blocks finishing with a game-high 24 points. Jordan Lason had 10 spikes, 3 blocks and 1 ace tallying up 14 points. Foluke Akinradewo led the team with 2 aces, she also had 8 spikes and 2 blocks in the victory, giving her 12 points. 

USA took the first lead of the game, but quickly found themselves trailing 8-10 to the Koreans. THey tied the match at 10 after two consecutive scores. Korea regained the lead at 16-15 and the U.S. came back to tie finishing the set on a 10-4 run to take the 1-0 advantage. 

Korea got off to a fast start in the second set, taking a 4-1 lead. The U.S. tied it at five, only to see Korea regain the lead. The Koreans held a three-point cushion throughout the match all the way until the scoreboard read 20-17.

The Americans then stepped on the clutch taking the set after an 8-2 run. 

The USA took this momentum into the third set as they quickly started out to a 3-1 lead. The Koreans battled back showing signs of life, but the Americans took a 10-6 lead. The lead quickly went to six as they went on a 3-1 run. 

Korea tied the game at 18 all the way at the end, adding pressure to the USA team. The Americans put the game away on a 7-4 run wrapping up the set and the match.
