LA Lakers Rumors: Goran Dragic Contract Priority Over LaMarcus Aldridge, Marc Gasol as NY Knicks Seek Jose Calderon Replacement After Rajon Rondo Trade?

Goran Dragic will be extremely popular in the upcoming summer. The 2015 free agency class was predicted to be one of the best until Rajon Rondo was traded to Dallas, Kevin Love was sent to Cleveland . Both players are expected to re-sign with their respective teams, leaving Dragic one of the best available options outside of Marc Gasol and LaMarcus Aldridge. Any team looking for a long-term point guard will aim for Dragic and he is excited about it.

Dragic has a player option in his four-year contract that he intends to exercise. The Phoenix Suns point guard told the Houston Chronicle that he is excited to test the market and see what his worth his. He was quick to note that all options are currently on the table.

"Every team in the NBA is an option to me, because it is a privilege to play for any team in the NBA. When the time comes I'm going to sit down with my family and my agent and try to make the best decision for myself," Dragic said, via the Houston Chronicle.

Dragic will be the odd man out with the Phoenix Suns. There is simply too many players in the backcourt for the Suns. The team currently has a majority of their salary cap space wrapped up in Eric Bledsoe and Isaiah Thomas which means that if Dragic were to stick around, the money and minutes would simply not be there. That means the point guard will have plenty of suitors in the upcoming months.

According to ESPN's Ramona Shelbourne, Dragic is expected to be heavily pursued by the Lakers. Los Angeles is in need of a long-term point guard. The team is dealing with the loss of Steve Nash and struggles of Jeremy Lin. The team is thinking long-term for the position instead of acquiring a one-year deal player. Dragic would be a solid player to build around.

The New York Knicks could also be in the market for Dragic. The team will likely try and part ways with Jose Calderon at the end of the season and get a player they more favor for years down the road. With Rajon Rondo was traded away, the Knicks automatically set their sights on Dragic as a top option unless they were to try and escalate a trade for someone.
