3:57 p.m. ------Welcome to the live blog of the Women's Basketball Gold Medal Game----

The tables are set for the U.S. Women's Basketball team to win their fifth gold medal at the 2012 London Olympics on Saturday. They could also lose it, as they face a red hot France team. The action begins at 4 p.m. ET/9 p.m. GMT. Since not everybody can access a live stream, here at sportsworldreport.com we bring you the live blog.

It should be an exciting matchup of undefeated teams.

France, just like Team USA, has yet to lose a game in the Olympics. They have played in very close matches, so they know how to play under pressure, which is something the U.S. has not faced at all.

The France team won by an average margin of victory of just over eight points a game. COmpare that to the U.S.'s margin of victories in the upper 30's.

Italy got past Australia and Canada by four points, Great Britain and the Czech Republic by three points. They beat Brazil and Russia by double digit margins. They faced Russia twice and defeated them by 11 in their first game and then 17 in the second.

If there is any way to measure Team USA's matchup for Saturday it will be by comparing their similar opponents.

The U.S. crushed the Czech Republic 88-61, meanwhile France barely escaped from that game with the win. The U.S. recently beat Australia 86-73, 13 point difference and France also had issues getting by them.

The U.S. comes into the match as the heavily favorite to win gold, but they must play to win if they look to walk out of London as champions.

Scroll up for the most recent updates and scores of the finals game between France and the U.S.
