Philadelphia Eagles Rumors: Nick Foles Trade To Houston Texans, Rams, Titans Options With Marcus Mariota Target?

The Philadelphia Eagles may consider a Nick Foles trade this offseason and teams like the Houston Texans, Tennessee Titans and St. Louis Rams could be interested in making a deal and this comes as Chip Kelly is potentially plotting to move up to draft Marcus Mariota as his quarterback of the future after their time together at Oregon.

The Eagles are coming into the offseason with questions at the quarterback position, as Foles is coming off of collarbone surgery and Mark Sanchez is a free agent. According to NJ.com, the Eagles are considering a trade for Foles this offseason, as the website reports that the St. Louis Rams are interested in a deal, while the Houston Texans and Tennessee Titans also could be interested. The website reported earlier in the offseason that Kelly was looking to make multiple trades to move up in the draft to take Mariota as his quarterback.

Last year Foles was injured and gave way to Mark Sanchez and while the Eagles won 10 games for the second straight season, it was not good enough to make the playoffs. Foles has won 14 games in two years under Kelly, but reports during the season had Kelly "not sold" on Foles as the franchise quarterback. Kelly did not draft Foles and before he was injured Foles was having a down year compared to the previous season.

Foles threw 27 touchdowns and two interceptions in 2013 and completed 64 percent of his passes, but last season in eight games he had 13 touchdowns, 10 interceptions and completed just 59 percent of his passes. Foles has stated publically that he thinks he will be in Philly in 2015 and will be the starter, but there is a chance that Philadelphia pulls off a move with him. The Rams have the number 10 pick in the draft and with the Eagles having their full slate of picks, it could be enough ammo to move up again.

The Titans have the number two pick in the draft and if Kelly wants to get really frisky, he could look at adding someone like LeSean McCoy to the deal. While McCoy is a great back and has been very productive the past few years, Phil Sheridan at ESPN.com writes that Kelly has made due with many different running backs at Oregon and last year with Darren Sproles and Chris Polk, meaning he could find a suitable replacement if needed.

Sheridan added that Kelly must weigh the benefit of getting Mariota compared to what he would give up, as the Buccaneers have the number one pick and may not want to trade it. The Bucs will be deciding between Jameis Winston and Marcus Mariota and if they pick Winston, it will be interesting to see what the Titans do at number two, as they desperately need a quarterback. Tony Kornheiser at ESPN said on PTI that if Kelly thinks that Mariota is the "perfect" player to run his system, he should trade up and get him, as he would be worth it if Kelly sees him that way.

The Eagles won 10 games and finished second in the NFC East, while Mariota comes in after winning the Heisman trophy and losing in the national title game with Oregon.
