Tyson Chandler stated he will not be joining Amar'e Stoudemire, who has been training with Hall of Famer Hakeem Olajuwon down in Houston. As reported by the New York Post, Chandler said, "I need to be still for a while.''
The New York Knicks' center has been on the road since July 5th as a member of the 2012 Men's Basketball Olympic team, many are calling them "The Dream Team III" as they captured gold after dominating international opponents with a start-studded cast.
Knick fans would tell you that both players need the help down low. Stoudemire was used to running around in the paint alone before Chandler's arrival. Now, Amar'e is learning new moves from a legend and having Chandler in camp would greatly benefit the Knicks, who possess a talented and balanced big-man duo that had trouble sharing the paint.
Chandler handled his own on defense, but Stoudemire was anything but productive in 2011-2012.
A player like Stoudemire is not supposed to average less than 18 points a game. That is not what he is paid to do. The good news for the Knicks and their fan base is that Stat said he is learning new things from The Dream.
As the Post also reported, Stoudemire has been "raving about the amount of post moves he never knew existed."
Despite Tyson's refusal to join the former baller and current NBA star, according to PostingandToasting.com, a Knicks blog, Chandler is in Tanzania representing the U.S. Fund for the International Inspiration program.
He might not be working on his move, but Chandler is working on philanthropic projects. Anyways, Stoudemire is the one who could use the help with Olajuwon, Chandler will hold the Knicks down on defense.
