The Miami Heat may look at a Norris Cole trade this season at the deadline and teams like the Washington Wizards and Cleveland Cavaliers may look at making a move, as Cole is headed towards restricted free agency and could sign with another team this summer.
Miami has been using Mario Chalmers and Shabazz Napier more at point guard and that has pushed Cole down a bit in the rotation. According to Real GM, the Wizards have looked into a potential trade with Cole, but nothing is imminent at the deadline. The Wizards have dealt with injuries this season and could look at adding Cole for some depth behind John Wall. The Cavaliers have also been mentioned as a potential option.
According to Yahoo Sports sources, Cole could be a potential target for the Thunder. The team could look at making a deal if the Reggie Jackson for Brook Lopez deal with the Nets goes down. That could happen, but only if the Thunder move Jackson. Cole has been averaging 25 minutes per game this season and is putting up 6.3 points, 3.5 assists and 2.3 rebounds for the Heat. Real GM reports that the asking price for Miami is very high and the Wizards have not yet been willing to meet it. The Cavaliers want some depth behind Kyrie Irving for the stretch run and they also could look at Pablo Prigioni or Jose Calderon as options.
The Cavaliers are right back in the mix at the top of the central division and heading into the trade deadline, players like Cole, Jose Calderon, Mo Williams, Jeremy Lin, Reggie Jackson and Tyler Ennis could be potential options to give Kyrie Irving some support on the bench. The Cavs would like to add some wing depth at the deadline and Cole could be the best fit.
The Cavaliers just went on a big winning streak and now they are trying to put the finishing touches on what they hope is a championship roster. The team has made a number of moves for LeBron James, bringing in JR Smith, Iman Shumpert and Timofey Mozgov and now they could look at adding more. According to Cleveland.com, the Cavaliers are looking to add a point guard or a wing player at the deadline for more offensive support off the bench.
The Miami Heat may look at trading Norris Cole, as he is not playing as much behind Shabazz Napier and Mario Chalmers. Cole has played with James in the past when he was in Miami and right now Cole has been targeted by the Detroit Pistons after they lost Brandon Jennings to an injury.
