NBA Free Agent Rumors: JaVale McGee Target For Chicago Bulls, LA Clippers, Dallas Mavericks, Miami Heat, Houston Rockets After Sixers Release?

The Philadelphia 76ers have waived JaVale McGee following his trade from the Denver Nuggets at the deadline and once he clears waivers, he is eligible to appear in the playoffs if he signs with another team and postseason contenders like the Chicago Bulls, LA Clippers, Dallas Mavericks, Miami Heat, Houston Rockets and Cavaliers could be interested in signing him.

According to ESPN.com, McGee was waived before the midnight deadline on Sunday night that allows him to sign and play in the postseason this season. McGee was moved at the deadline that gave the Sixers a first round pick and was able to get out while retaining $12 million in salary for next season and the rest of his pay this year. McGee has dealt with injuries over the past couple years and was not playing much in Philadelphia after the trade.

The 27 year old had interest from the Mavericks at the trade deadline and they could look at signing him this week as they make a playoff push. The Clippers have been dealing with an injury to Blake Griffin and could look at McGee for some depth, while the Rockets have been playing without Dwight Howard for weeks as he recovers from a knee injury. The Bulls just hit a spell of injuries with Derrick Rose and Taj Gibson, while the Miami Heat could look at making a deal as they try and make it into the postseason in the east.
