FIFA U-20 Women's World Cup Japan 2012 Results: Brazil vs. Nigeria Score Finishes in 1-1 Draw

Once again Brazil's women muster up a late comeback tying the game late in the second half avoiding the loss. Brazil faced Nigeria and their Group B matchup at the FIFA U-20 Women's World Cup Japan 2012 resulted in a 1-1 tie.

It was a fairly close matchup all afternoon long (afternoon in Japan) as the women from both teams could not get a goal. The first goal eventually came at the 44th minute when Nigeria's Francisca Ordega scored.

Ordega's goal stood between four Brazilian defenders, and without hesitating sneaked the ball past a diving Ingrid of Brazil. The ball went behind Ingrid and past an outstretched goal keeper Daniele.

Ingrid, with her distinct wrap around her head, had an opportunity to tie the score late in the game. Off of a free kick, she was set up by a header and it was just her Nigerian goalie, Ibubeleye Whyte. With her left leg she prepped the kick and missed wide right.

Brazil was down 1-0 late in the first half.

It took them a while to score, but Giovanna Oliveira guaranteed Brazil life in the first round with her goal coming in the 87th minute of play.

After a foul, Brazil had the chance of a free kick from the left side of the penalty area. Thais Guedes kicked it up and Oliveira answered with a header that changed the tragectory of the ball after she barely grazed it.

Now for Brazil and Nigeria, they play once again on Sunday. Nigeria will play Italy in Kobe, while Brazil will face the Korea Republic.
