Miami Heat Rumors 2012: Josh Harrellson, Chris Andersen Draw Interest From Team

The Miami Heat have been searching for big men this offseason despite adding shooting power to their bench. They are trying to address the issue of height. Josh Harrellson, who made his rookie debut with the New York Knicks last season, worked out with the Heat this past week.

Harrellson would bring a heavy body to the middle of the paint while Chris Bosh or Joel Anthony take a breather. Not only can he stand in the paint, but Harrellson brings versatility as he is also able to knock down the outside shot. He made 20-59 threes last season.

Harrellson is 6'10", 275 pounds could be a perfect fit in Miami.

Also, as the Heat continue to address the issue at the center position, Chris "Birdman" Anthony, the tattooed ball player who was recently cut by the Denver Nuggets, has also attracted interest from the world champions.

The 33-year-old center averaged 15 minutes of play, but was efficient on defense, averaging 1.4 blocks a game.

The good news for the Heat is that Andersen would agree, well he has no other choice, to sign for the veteran minimum since the Heat are already up there in salary cap.

Harrellson averaged 4.4 points a game averaging close to 15 minutes played for the Knicks in 2011. He is only 23-years-old and could be the better option as he can be molded into exactly what the Heat want from him in the 2012-2013 season.
