NFL Preseason Schedule 2012: New York Giants vs. New England Patriots, Super Bowl Rematch on Wednesday

The New York Giants and the New England Patriots will meet in preseason action as a rematch of Super Bowl XLVI. Though the game does not count in the team's final record of the 2012-2013 season, it is the first time the teams hit the field following their February meeting.

The Giants have made offensive changes as far as their back-up running back and wide receiving core. Mario Manningham, who the Patriots remember very well is gone from the team, but the Giants' pass rush core is still intact.

The Giants are 1-2 in the preseason and they lost their Friday meeting against the Chicago Bears 20-17. If there is any consolation for New York fans it is that the Giants' starters are handling their business and rookie running back David Wilson was bouncing off of defenders and breaking tackles.

The Giants will need a running game to help balance their passing assault, although last year it was not needed as the team went on to win the Super Bowl.

The New England Patriots came out on the losing end of a high scoring affair against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. They lost 27-30.

The Pats made news recently as they gave their tight end Aaron Hernandez a five-year deal.

With Rob Gronkowski also sticking around, the Patriots look to terrorize the NFL with their big receiving tight ends.

There will be no games televised in local channels, but for those who have the NFL Network, they will be able to enjoy the action.

The game kicks off at 7 p.m. ET on Wednesday evening.
