Los Angeles Lakers should be pleased to know that newly acquired center Dwight Howard has finally met with NBA legend Kareem Abdul-Jabbar. Just last week Howard told fans he plans on working with Abdul-Jabbar when he's healthy enough, so this meeting is a good sign for what's to come.
Howard tweeted a picture of himself with Kareem on Twitter.
Abdul-Jabbar also mentioned how honored he was to meet with Howard.
Howard also tweeted how blessed he felt to spend some time with one of the legendary Laker centers whose path he will be following.
Howard can learn a lot about playing in Los Angeles from former centers that had success in purple and gold.
Only a few people could help Howard deal with this kind of pressure, and Abdul-Jabbar is one of them. The franchise is known for having some of the best centers in basketball history. Not only were George Mikan, Abdul-Jabbar and O'Neal great players, they also won championships. Howard's tenure in Los Angeles, even if it's only one season, will be judged by the titles he wins.
Meeting a player like Abdul-Jabbar was great for Howard, and for as long as he remains in Los Angeles, it would be a good decision on Howard's choice to stay in contact with the Laker legend.
