Luke Rockhold Will Defend His Strikeforce Middleweight Championship Belt Against Lorenz Larkin On November 3rd

Strikeforce Middleweight Champion Luke Rockhold will face Lorenz Larkin on November 3rd in Oklahoma City.

Larkin likely earned the title shot with a unanimous decision victory over Robbie Lawler in July at Strikeforce: Rockhold vs. Kennedy.

Larkin is a former light heavyweight with an undefeated record. He has one no contest on his resume after his bout against Muhammed "King Mo" Lawal was overturned following Lawal's suspension for testing positive for a banned substance.

The champion, Rockhold, has looked great since winning the title against Souza.

Rockhold will look to make his third consecutive title defense and pick up his third win in 2012, as well. Rockhold defeated both Keith Jardine and Tim Kennedy earlier this year, and will try to go 3-0 when he faces Larkin in November.

Rockhold has been very vocal since winning the title about fighting crossover fights against UFC talent.

Sources close to the fight confirmed to MMAWeekly.com that verbal agreements are in place for the bout, which will co-headline the card featuring a heavyweight main event bout between Daniel Cormier and Frank Mir.

Cormier vs. Mir will be held at the Chesapeake Energy Arena in Oklahoma City, OK. A cross-promotional bout pitting Strikeforce heavyweight grand prix champion Daniel Cormier against former UFC heavyweight champion Frank Mir headlines the event.
