Portugal and Azerbaijan will meet in a Group F match as the FIFA World Cup 2014 qualifiers continues. Their match will take place in Braga, Portugal and begins at 3:15 p.m. ET/8:15 WEST
So far in Group F, Portugal is tied with Russia for the top spot in the pool as they won their first matchup against Luxembourg 2-1.
Azerbaijan on the other hand, had a 1-1 draw with Israel as they sit in the middle of the six-team pool.
Azerbaijan gave up an early second half goal to Bebras Natcho of Israel at the 50 minute mark. They rallied back behind Ruslan Abishov who scored a goal at minute 64 to tie the match and avoid Azerbaijan from getting in the loss column.
Portugal, in their match against Luxembourg, gave up an early goal in minute 13 of the match to Dan Da Mota. 15 minutes later Cristiano Ronaldo scored a goal to tie the match and then Helder Postiga gave them the lead in the second half in minute 54.
Though they won their first match, Portugal is currently in second place since they gave up that one goal to Luxembourg. Russia did not allow a goal in their first match.
Azerbaijan is in fourth place.
