Real Madrid superstar Cristiano Ronaldo has expressed his desire to focus on winning games for Real Madrid, rather than worrying about off-field issues, after returning from international duty to his club.

Ronaldo returned to training at Real Wednesday, and according to Spanish newspaper AS, he had a clear-the-air talk with Mourinho, who was reportedly not amused by Ronaldo's statement about being "sad" at the club for professional reasons.

In a statement on his official Facebook page, Ronaldo hinted that the problems did indeed lie on his contract situation, but reiterated his commitment to the Real Madrid cause. "I would like to reassert, without worrying about contracts, that my attention is fully focussed on winning every game and every trophy on offer in the indispensable company of my teammates and all of the Madrid fans," Ronaldo wrote.

"Two games, six points. Mission accomplished," Ronaldo added about his Portugal's World Cup qualifying performance. "We could have scored more goals, but the truth is that Azerbaijan was a tough team.

"In any case, the end result of both games was very positive and the time has come to return to the club and think only about my club."

Ronaldo created quite a storm earlier this month, after saying he was sad, which is why he had not celebrated the two goals he scored in Real's last La Liga match against Granada.

Speculation in Spain suggested Ronaldo wanted a new contract, and was also disillusioned by the perceived lack of respect from his teammates. It was reported the Portuguese forward, in addition, wanted Real to support him more in winning the Ballon d'Or.

After the comments, Ronaldo has been linked with several clubs, including a move back to Manchester United. However, it is believed both parties are willing to sit down and come to a logical agreement in the next few days.

Meanwhile, Real captain Iker Casillas said he wants to end his career with the club. "It would be a dream come true and a real joy to end my career in the club I had the privilege of starting out in when I was only nine," Casillas is quoted as saying by AS. "My contract is until I'm 36 and my dream is to retire when I'm 39."
