The UEFA Champions League is into the semifinals and Juventus took the early lead on Real Madrid after winning 2-1 on Tuesday and now Cristiano Ronaldo will try and get his club back to the finals in the return leg next week, which will be Wednesday in Spain.
Juventus now has the chance to knock out the defending champions if they can hold next week and that puts pressure on Madrid to have a strong performance. Carlos Tevez had the decisive goal on a penalty kick in the second half after the game was 1-1 and now Juventus will hold a slight advantage into the second leg return match.
The first goal of the match came in the first 10 minutes with Alvaro Morata cleaning up after a save by Iker Casillas. Real Madrid was able to tie things up with a goal from Ronaldo with a header coming from a cross pass from James Rodriguez, but they could not score again. The team had chances in the second half and at the end of the first half, but Juventus was able to keep it out.
The penalty gave Juventus the lead and they were able to hold on and now Carlos Ancelotti and his team will have to find a way to bounce back. Gareth Bale did not have a great game and he will be looking to rebound next week. Ronaldo will likely have to put the team on his back again to get through and they will have the advantage being in Madrid.
