Thursday Night Football Results: New York Giants Win 36-7 Against Panthers

The New York Giants improved to 2-1 after defeating the Carolina Panthers 36-7 as Ramses Barden and Andre Brown had career nights.

Ramses Barden had 9 receptions, more than he did last season and had a career high 138 yards with no touchdowns.

Brown exceeded everybody's expectations. Here was our prediction prior to the game. He ran for 113 yards and scored two touchdowns. The Brown and Eli Manning combination punished the Panthers all night.

Manning threw for 288 yards and a touchdown.

In a game where Ahmad Bradshaw and Hakeem Nicks were out, it was important to have these players step up.

Prior to the game, the NFL Network crew predicted that the Panthers were going to win this game.

The Giants played defense intercepting Cam Newton three times. He could not run. He could not scramble. The only player that had a decent game in the Panthers' roster was Greg Olsen, the tight end, who the Giants really did not have an answer for.

Smith was held to 86 yards and DeAngelo Williams only rushed for 50 yards. Newton had the only score for the Panthers.

Martellus Bennett opened up the scoring for Giants with a touchdown reception. It was Manning's only touchdown throw of the game.

The Giants play the Philadelphia Eagles in Week 4. So it was important for them to win today.

The Panthers go to Atlanta to face their NFC South rival Falcons.
