The Atlanta Falcons and San Diego Chargers are looking to dole out the first loss of the season to each other in a Week 3 matchup in San Diego.

Both teams are coming off impressive Week 2 victories and seem to have momentum flowing in their favor.

The Falcons held off a late Denver Broncos run to win 27-21 on Monday night. Matt Ryan scored two touchdowns and the Falcons' defense picked off Peyton Manning three times before the first quarter ended. Roddy White hauled in eight receptions for 102 yards and a touchdown. Veteran tight end Tony Gonzalez had seven receptions for 70 yards and a touchdown as well.

The Chargers abused the Tennessee Titans en route to a 38-10 home opening victory. Philip Rivers threw for 284 yards -- and three touchdowns to tight end Dante Rosario. Malcom Floyd added six receptions for 109 yards.

The Chargers have had one of the most surprising defenses in the entire league through two weeks. The rush defense has been outstanding so far, but new defensive coordinator John Pagano should have his hands full with Matt Ryan and the dynamic duo of Roddy White and Julio Jones.

Michael Turner, who scored a touchdown in Week 2 but only ran for 42 yards on 17 carries, faces a very tough matchup as the Chargers' defense is the best NFL rush defense in the league, only allowing 41.5 yards per game. The Falcons, on the other hand, have struggled against the run this season, allowing 135 yards per game. Chargers running back Ryan Mathews hasn't played yet since breaking his clavicle in the preseason, but if he is around it will provide a hearty boost to the Chargers' running game.

Game time/date: 4:05 p.m. ET, Sunday, Sept. 23
