Monday Night Football Prediction: Packers Will Defeat Seahawks in Week 3 Matchup

The Seattle Seahawks and the Green Bay Packers are meeting up for their Monday Night Football matchup scheduled for 8:20 p.m. ET/7:20 p.m. CT.

Both teams enter the game sporting 1-1 records and both are coming off dominant wins against their Week 2 opponents.

For the Seahawks, it was a well played game against the Dallas Cowboys that earned them their first win of the 2012 season.

The Packers took down their trash talking NFC North rival Chicago Bears last Thursday night as the oldest rivalry in football history was a pretty lopsided match.

A victory for the Packers allows them to keep pace with the Bears and the surprising Minnesota Vikings who are both 2-1 in 2012.

For the Seahawks, a victory will allow them to avoid a tie for the last spot in the NFC West with the St. Louis Rams and will keep them close to the San Francisco 49ers' who are still the favorite to win the NFC West, despite the Arizona Cardinals' quick 3-0 start.

Without further ado, here are my Monday Night Football predictions of the matchup between the Packers vs. Seahawks.

PREDICTION: The Packers hold the advantage in this game. I give them the edge at the quarterback position and their defensive line is third in the league with 11 sacks in the season. Six of these sacks belong to Mr. Clay Matthews.

The Seahawks' offensive line barely has any sacks and if you let Aaron Rodgers have time in the pocket, he will shred your defense apart.

The Seahawks are a run first offense, so this might cause problems for the Packers as their weakness is rushing giving up an averaged of 140 yards per game so far in the season.

However, they are still without their No. 1 receiver, Doug Baldwin. The Packers will be all over the Seahawks' running game since their corners and safeties will have the outside covered. Coming into the game, the Packers have the best passing in the NFL as teams are averaging just 132.5 yards a game through the air.

Look for Cedric Benson to get more involved in the offense, he might not better his 81-yard performance against the Bears, but he will score his first touchdown against the Seahawks.

I predict the final score to finish 23-20 in favor of the Green Bay Packers
