MLB Playoff Rotations: Washington Nationals, Cincinnati Reds Have Starters Lined Up for Postseason

The Washington Nationals and Cincinnati Reds are in the playoffs and their pitching rotations are set. They get to watch the craziness of the one-game playoffs after clinching their respective divisions.

Here we have their starting rotations as both managers have decided who and when they want their pitchers on the mound.

Cincinnati Reds Starting Pitching
The Reds will have Johnny Cueto, Bronson Arroyo, Mat Latos and Homer Bailey.
For those wondering why Arroyo becomes the second starter the answer is simple, he has the most playoff experience in the pitching rotation. Back in his days with the Boston Red Sox, Arroyo pitched in pivotal playoff games. He was a part of the 0-3 comeback against the Yankees in 2004.

Here are the numbers each of these pitchers has posted in 2012.

Johnny Cueto: 19-9 2.78 ERA 217 IP 170 Ks
Bronson Arroyo: 12-10 3.74 ERA 202 IP 129 Ks
Mat Latos: 14-4 3.48 ERA 209.1 IP 185 Ks
Homer Bailey: 13-10 3.75 ERA 204 IP 162 Ks

Washington Nationals Pitching Rotation
The Nationals will have Gio Gonzalez, Jordan Zimmermann, Edwin Jackson and Ross Detwiler as their starting rotation. The rotation looks empty without Stephen Strasburg, but do not be fooled, the Nationals have the best pitching in the National League.

Check out their numbers.

Gio Gonzalez: 21-8 2.89 ERA 199.1 IP 207 Ks
Jordan Zimmermann: 12-8 2.94 ERA 195.2 IP 153 Ks
Edwin Jackson: 9-11 4.13 ERA 183 IP 162 Ks
