Monday Night Football Results: Texans Defeat Jets 23-17

The Houston Texans improve to 5-0 after a tough 23-17 victory on the road against the New York Jets during Monday Night Football at Meadowlands Stadium.

Texans linebacker Brian Cushing left the game with a left knee injury in the second quarter.

He entered the game as the team's leading sacker with 38. He was the 2009 Defensive Rookie of the Year.

Quarterback Matt Schaub completed 50 percent of his 28 passes for his 209 yards and passing touchdown.

Schaub threw for only one interception,

The 2-3 Jets were the underdogs in this match coming off a 34-0 loss to the San Francisco last week, but still managed to make a game of it.

Quarterback Mark Sanchez threw for 230 yards and a touchdown, in addition with two interceptions, but completed 14 for 31 attempts.

The Jets defense gave up 112 of their 169 rushing yards in the first half to help dig a 17-7 deficit at intermission that they couldn't overcome.

Before the game kicked off there were questions and speculations on whether or not Jets second string quarterback Tim Tebow would get significant playing time this game. Tebow threw one incomplete pass and rushed five times for 19 yards.
