NBA Rumors: Matthew Dellavedova, JR Smith Return For Cleveland Cavaliers After James Jones, Richard Jefferson Sign? Anderson Varejao Trade Option

The Cleveland Cavaliers are looking to bring back JR Smith and Matthew Dellavedova on contracts this summer for LeBron James and the team may not have room for both, as the Cavs have signed back James Jones to a deal and this come as the team could consider a trade with Anderson Varejao if Sasha Kaun comes over from playing overseas in Europe.

The Cavaliers have been one of the most active teams in the league this offseason, as they have brought back LeBron James, Iman Shumpert and Kevin Love back on deals. The team reportedly has been looking for a trade with Brendan Haywood, as he has an unguaranteed contract and could be a trade chip. James was asked about the Cavs moves while premiering his new movie "Trainwreck" and said that he was happy with the developments, but that the team needs to do more.

UPDATE: The Cavaliers are signing Richard Jefferson to a contract. It likely will be a low level deal for the team and he can add some wing scoring and depth. According to the Akron Beacon-Journal, general manager David Griffin said that the team is "interested" in bringing back both JR Smith and Matthew Dellavedova. Smith opted out of his contract this summer and Dellavedova is a restricted free agent. Cleveland.com reports that Dellavedova is looking for a deal in the range of $4 million per season and the Cavs reportedly want him to take less. Smith opted out of his deal and the Cleveland Plain Dealer reports that the Cavaliers were not "thrilled" with that move.

Smith would have been paid $6.4 million for that deal and now it's likely that if he signs back for the Cavs, he would have to take a pay cut. The team added Mo Williams this offseason and that could help the lineup if either Smith or Dellavedova do not return. Williams can be a solid B-team point guard behind Kyrie Irving and even if Dellavedova is signed, Williams likely will be the main backup.

According to Joe Vardon of Cleveland.com, the Cavaliers are bringing back veteran James Jones on a deal and it's likely he is signed to a contract near the minimum. Jones comes in after being one of the key bench players for the team last season, averaging four points and one rebound per game while shooting 36 percent from three point range. Jones should be one of the end of the rotation players for the Cavs this year.

The Cavaliers reportedly are considering bringing over Sasha Kaun to the team this year, as Cleveland.com reports that the Cavs have the center's draft rights. The report says that the team has had interest from the Spurs and Nets about getting the rights to Kaun. The Cavs have been working on a deal for Haywood and have also shopped Anderson Varejao this offseason and if they pull off a trade, Kaun could come over.

James said to ESPN that he hopes the team can bring back Smith and he also mentioned Tristan Thompson and his contract. The Cavs and Thompson are continuing to work on a deal and according to Cleveland.com, the two sides "are currently not making any progress" on a new contract and it could take some time to get a deal done. Earlier in the offseason it was reported that the two sides were "close" on a four year deal at $80 million, but later Chris Haynes of the Plain Dealer reported that there is a "gap" in contract talks.
