Dallas Cowboys Rumors and News: Jeremy Mincey Holding Out In Training Camp, Randy Gregory Gets Boost With Greg Hardy Suspension

Cowboy's leading sack leader Jeremy Mincey has decided to hold out for more money.

Mincey is the league's 70th highest paid defensive end and will look to increase his salary by posturing. Mincey is 31 and has only 2 year deal in place with the Cowboys. This may be a bit surprising to the Cowboys considering they only thought there may be one hold out of camp (Dez Bryant) and that's why he got paid.

The Cowboys are receptive however to extending Mincey's contract maybe even giving him an offer that makes him a Cowboy for the remainder of his career. There are some plus's to look at when talking about Mincey, he did stay healthy all season, and he also had 6 sacks in 2014. Mincey just got better in the playoffs recording two sacks there as well.

For the Cowboy's locker room Mincey is an emotional leader, a veteran player who went to the Super Bowl with the Broncos, and spent 5 years on the Jaguars. He is one of the few NFL players who have seen every aspect of the game play out so it would be smart for the Cowboys to sign him to a team friendly deal. Mincey does have a low number of sacks in his seven year career (26) and only (7) forced fumbles, those are not numbers to negotiate on.

Mincey may need to act fast however because the man behind him, Randy Gregory, is the next man up on the depth chart and was already slated to get a lot of work in training camp so now that's practically a guarantee. Gregory is seen as a probable starter as the season goes on so if the Cowboys stick to a number for Mincey; that should not be too much of a surprise.
