The New York Giants and the San Francisco 49ers will go head-to-head Sunday afternoon as they will meet for the first time following their NFC Championship game in 2011.

The Giants have had a rocky start to their season filled with injuries. They are 3-2 to begin the season, but easily could have been 4-1 if they had not lost to the Philadelphia Eagles in a dramatic Week 4 matchup. Despite their struggles, the Giants are still tied for first place.

As for the Niners, they had bad game against the Minnesota Vikings, which dropped them from being the best team in the NFL to being considered simply one of the Top 5.

Their defense is explosive. Their offensive can put up points, however, their passing game has struggled as it is one of the Top 10 worst in the league. But who needs passing when Frank Gore controls the ground game?

This matchup will feature the best defensive in football and a dynamic offense. The Giants score around 30.4 points a game. The 49ers only allow 13.6.
