Philadelphia 76ers All-Star center, Andrew Bynum will have routine injections to his knees in the coming days. According to his agent these are the same injections he's been having every year for the past "three to four years".
"He's been getting them for quite some time now," agent David Lee, reached Sunday afternoon, said. "Look at it as being nothing more than, like, a WD-40 for his knees.
"The best way I can describe it is it greases up the joint and that's a good thing. They did it last year. It's routine. It's non-invasive."
According to Dei Lynam of CSNPhilly.com, Bynum and the team are still targeting the last week of October as a possible return to his teammates on the practice court.
"He says he is feeling better," Doug Collins said after Sunday's practice session. "Eventually he is going to get running on the treadmill and that will be a huge step. We have a new anti-gravity machine which can take up to 80 percent of your body weight off, so you can get over there and run and only be hitting 20 percent of your body weight. You can move it up little by little.
"That is going to be the next step for him," Collins reiterated. "He needs to get on that treadmill, pick it up and hope the knee responds well to that."
