Tennessee Titans Rumors and News: Ken Whisenhunt Isn’t Looking To Trade Zach Mettenberger, Marcus Mariota Starter

The Tennessee Titans have immediately put an end to the speculation that they will deal backup quarterback Zach Mettenberger.

Mettenberger has played lights out this preseason, some may dare to say he has played better than franchise quarterback Marcus Mariota. Mettenberger has completed 15/20 passes for 220 yards with 2 touchdowns and one interception.

His passer rating has been an impressive 122.9 and has often made look opposing defenses look silly. Mettenberger is a 6'5, 224 pound pocket passing machine and looks infinitely better than he has previously. Head coach Ken Whisenhunt has supported Mettenberger and the value he has on the Titans. In an interview Whisenhunt recently stated his reasoning for keeping Mettenberger...

"In the league today it is very hard for one quarterback to make it through the whole season, so you better have a plan in case your starter doesn't go. So we certainly feel very fortunate that we have Zach, and what Zach brings to the table. You have to give credit to Zach, he is really playing well. We are excited about Zach, and we are excited about Marcus, our whole quarterback group has played very well. It's a good problem to have."

How can we possibly blame the Titans for keeping two solid quarterbacks after all of the dysfunction that the franchise has faced in recent memory? The Titans are finally looking stable after several years now all they have to do is win some games.
