NY Giants Rumors: Landon Collins, Odell Beckham Will Play, Victor Cruz Out For Preseason Game Against New York Jets?

The NY Giants are expecting to have Landon Collins back for Saturday's preseason game against the New York Jets and this comes as Victor Cruz will be out with a calf injury, while Odell Beckham could see some more action after his active night against the Jaguars secondary last weekend.

The Giants have been dealing with a ton of injuries this summer and they have already lost Mykkele Thompson and Bennett Jackson to season-ending injuries. Landon Collins has also been banged up, but the second round pick appears ready to get back into action. According to Ralph Vacchiano at the New York Daily News, Collins is expected to play in the preseason game on Saturday barring any setbacks or injuries this week.

Vacchiano also reports that Nat Berhe is dealing with an injured calf, while linebacker Mark Herzlich has been dealing with a concussion and has not been cleared to play yet. The team also saw Marshall Newhouse deal with an injury, but he was only stepped on and Tom Coughlin said that his issue is not serious. Cruz is dealing with a calf issue and that will keep him out of the game against the Jets most likely, although things could change during the next couple days.

Cruz is coming back from serious knee surgery and he has reportedly felt great in camp and the knee has progressed well from surgery. Cruz is now dealing with another issue and according to the New York Post, Tom Coughlin is "concerned" about the calf. The Giants had been hoping to get Cruz some reps before the regular season started to help him test out his knee and get game action, but now he may sit out the game on Saturday.

Cruz said the injury was "minor" and it may not be a serious one, but it's enough to keep him out of action for a bit longer. The Giants have operated this offseason assuming that Cruz will not be fully healthy to start the season and that puts pressure on Odell Beckham and Rueben Randle to get things going. The Giants signed James Jones to a free agent deal and he could be a nice depth option for New York if Cruz has to miss time.
