The Oregon State Beavers are in the midst of a magical season.

The team is undefeated, ranked seventh in the country and have the chance to go 7-0 for the first time in school history. The Washington Huskies would love nothing more than to crash their party.

"We know they're very talented and very, very capable," Riley added. "They beat a real good Stanford team and they've kind of played murderer's row here, they've played LSU and USC and Oregon (and) Stanford so we're expecting another tough Pac-12 game."

The Beavers have been one of the biggest surprises in the nation after going 3-9 in 2011. The team has already become bowl eligible after missing out last season.

"You want to do it as fast as you can," Riley said. "And then you want to get to the best bowl that you can. So we've got the first part of that done."

The team has remained undefeated this season despite using two different quarterbacks. Sean Mannion will start on Saturday after missing two games, while Cody Vaz will be the backup.

"It was difficult. Cody has played well and Sean has played well," Riley said of his decision. "I just kind of took it back a little bit further to the initial competition. Sean had played four games and played well so we decided to go with him. But it was not easy."

Vaz led the Beavers to a 42-24 win against BYU on Oct. 13, passing for over 330 yards and three touchdowns. The team has the 15th ranked passing offense, but has been scoring only 26 points per game.

"The one thing we feel good about is our quarterback situation, because now Cody's got some experience.," said Riley. "He's won a couple of games. We would never even blink about playing him."

The Beaver defense has been solid all season, allowing only 16 points per game. Last week the defense was stellar in a 21-7 win against Utah and two weeks ago they did not allow a touchdown in the19-6 win against Washington State.

The Huskies have had an uneven season, but have performed best against ranked opponents, including in a win against then-No. 8 Stanford and in a 24-14 loss to No. 11 USC.

The defense has been the weak link this season, allowing over 40 points three times this season, including in a 52-17 loss last Saturday against Arizona.

"We can't make technique errors and we can't have bad eyes in the secondary," co-captain Desmond Trufant told the school's official website. "That's something we can control. We've got to make plays when they present themselves... It comes back to us."

The win would keep Oregon State tied with Oregon atop the Pac-12 North and would mark the best start for the team in school history.
