Eight time winners Liverpool will hosts Swansea City in the fourth round of the Capital One Cup Wednesday at 4:00 p.m. ET.
Liverpool have won a record eight League Cups and will look to improve on that this season.
The Reds have not started the season the way they wanted under boss Brendan Rodgers and are now languishing at the wrong side of the Premier League table (12th).
Liverpool come into the match after a draw in the Merseyside derby last week. Rodgers' side found an early two-goal lead at Goodison Park but Everton fought back and levelled the scores before the break. And though Luis Suarez found the back of the net in stoppage-time, the potential winner was controversially ruled out for offside.
Swansea, on the other hand, started the season on a high under new boss Michael Laudrup, who replaced Rodgers this summer. Wales midfielder Allen also left Swansea for Liverpool in the summer transfer window and will relish the chance to beat his former side.
Rodgers will rest Luis Suarez who represents the only senior striker for the club. Raheem Sterling, Joe Allen and Steven Gerrard are likely to sit after playing over the weekend but Jordan Henderson, Stewart Downing and Jamie Carragher should all get the nod.
