The Colts have lost a very promising piece of their offense as Phillip Dorsett suffered a fractured ankle injury in Sunday's week 7 game against the New Orleans Saints.
Dorsett was having a fairly quiet rookie season as he has been hindered by a crowded wide receiving group that includes, Andre Johnson, Donte Moncrief, and TY Hilton. The injury should sideline Dorsett for four to six weeks and should take away some of the depth the Colts have at wide receiver. Andre Johnson's role will be more important than ever in help solidifying this offense with Dorsett out.
If there is any ligament damage Dorsett could end up missing the rest of the 2015 season which would be a crushing blow to the Colts second round draft pick. It was a head scratching decision when the Colts took Dorsett with their first round pick in the 2015 NFL draft at pick 29 when they desperately needed help on the defensive side of the ball.
Linebacker Stephone Anthony, defensive end Randy Gregory, and defensive tackle Malcom Brown were all available to help the Colts struggling defense however the Colts selected Dorsett in hopes to find their next star wide receiver but signing Andre Johnson on top of that was another questionable string of decision making.
