With the 2015 NFL season over the NFC East will have a ton of work to do in terms of evaluating their rosters. With the Washington Redskins in the playoff that leaves three teams (Dallas Cowboys, Philadelphia Eagles, New York Giants) looking to pick up the pieces for 2016.
The Dallas Cowboys will have the highest draft pick out of all of these teams securing a top 5 selection in the draft. The Cowboys will have the 4th pick and could potentially look at a ton of top talent from any position. Obviously coming in last in the NFC East the Cowboys may be looked upon as having the most work to do this offseason but in reality injury played a bigger role than ineffectiveness (well that is except at backup quarterback).
The Cowboys will not only have Tony Romo and Dez Bryant back and healthy for the 2016 season but also their top cornerback in Orlando Scandrick plus whatever top pick they choose.
The Cowboys could select Myles Jack at outside linebacker, Joey Bosa at defensive end, Jalen Ramsey at cornerback, Laquon Treadwell at wide receiver, Ezekiel Elliot at running back, or even surprise some people by taking Jared Goff or another early round quarterback.
The New York Giants on the other hand will not be so lucky. After being in contention for most of the season the Giants will now pick 10th in the first round. The Giants are expected to be looking for a new head coach as Tom Coughlin is expected to retire.
Not only are there questions with the coaching staff but the contracts of both Jason Pierre Paul and Prince Amukamara are up which could lead to the Giants either releasing them into free agency or trying to replace them through free agency and the draft. The Giants cannot afford instability as injury woes also hampered them in their hunt for a playoff spot. The ridiculous untimely suspension of Odell Beckham most likely did not help either.
The Philadelphia Eagles are slated to take the 13th spot in the draft. With Chip Kelly already gone it will be tough to draft with a specific plan in mind as Kelly has been the Eagles head coach for the last few seasons. Every player on that team, Kelly handpicked so it will be interesting were the Eagles go in the draft and free agency. While picking at 13 is not too bad it still is not arguably high enough to draft a top 5 talent.
