The NFL playoffs are into the divisional round after wild card weekend and now the matchups in the AFC and NFC are set.
Here is a look at 5 things to know from Wild Card Weekend:
The Seahawks won with some luck and some ice cold weather
The Seahawks could not get much going against the Vikings until the fourth quarter in what was the coldest game of the weekend in the NFL playoffs. The team took a one point lead late in the game, but Minnesota drove down the field and put themselves in position for a game winning field goal. Blair Walsh lined up and Jeff Locke took the snap and Walsh pushed the ball wide left, leaving Seattle with the lead and the win.
The Steelers won after some controversial calls and a Bengals comeback
The Steelers and Bengals game was a sloppy affair that saw pouring rain come down for most of the game. The Steelers were shutting out the Bengals for most of the game even with Ben Roethlisberger dealing with an injury. But in the fourth quarter AJ McCarron did some work and the Bengals scored 16 points to take a one point lead. But Pittsburgh wasn't done. Ben came back into the game and drove his team down the field for a game winning field goal. The dive was aided by some penalties by the Bengals and now the Steelers are into the next round.
The Packers look like the Green Bay of old
The Green Bay packers have struggled a bit on offense this season, but the team looked like the Green Bay of old against the redskins on Sunday. Aaron Rodgers and the offense was able to put up points against a solid Washington defense and the team now will hit the road against the cardinals in the next round. The packers and cardinals played a few weeks ago in what was a dominant game for Arizona and now Green Bay looks ready for the rematch.
The Chiefs won a playoff game for the first time in 22 years
The Chiefs dominated the Texans on Saturday from the opening kickoff to win their first playoff game in over 20 years. The team returned the opening kick for a touchdown and Alex smith totally outplayed Brian Hoyer as the Chiefs won their 11th straight game dating back to the regular season.
Wild card weekend saw all four road teams win
The wins by the road teams in the wild card round means that the Broncos and Panthers will host the Steelers and Seahawks in the divisional round of the playoffs. The packers will play the Arizona Cardinals, while the Chiefs will travel to play the New England Patriots. According to Peter King at the MMQB, this is the first time that all four road teams won on wild card weekend.
