NFL Divisional Round Recap: Carolina Panthers, New England Patriots, Denver Broncos, Arizona Cardinals

This weekend brought a ton of ridiculous NFL action and brought us one step closer to the Super Bowl. The Carolina Panthers prevailed over the Seattle Seahawks at home while the Kansas City Chiefs fell to the New England Patriots.

The Panthers dominated the Seahawks for the entire first half, putting up a ton of points making it virtually impossible for a comeback. The Seahawks gave it a valiant effort however would fall short of dethroning the dominant Panthers. The red hot Chiefs saw their season come to an end as the Patriots already appear to be in Super Bowl form.

The return of Julian Edelman has given Brady some options in the passing game which has made an already dangerous quarterback that much deadlier.

The Packers were eliminated in outstanding fashion by the Cardinals as the last 15 minutes of that game was a gigantic highlight reel. The Packers saw their franchise quarterback Aaron Rodgers throw 2 Hail Mary's that were completed in the fourth quarter. The 2nd Hail Mary put the game into overtime which started with a weird non coin clip by a referee. This would result in a second coin flip that caused some controversy however to be fair the Cardinals won the toss both times.

The clutch play of Aaron Rodgers would not be enough as the Cardinals saw Carson Palmer throw across his body to a wide open Larry Fitzgerald who ended up taking the ball deep into the Packers red zone. It was Fitzgerald on the next play who delivered the season saving touchdown. This was the second year in a row the Packers offense did not get a chance to respond on offense in overtime.

The Denver Broncos put the Pittsburgh Steelers Super Bowl hopes to bed however quarterback questions remain in Denver. The Steelers showed tremendous grit and determination to compete against easily the best defense in the NFL without their biggest offensive weapon, Antonio Brown.

Roethlisberger had a stellar game however it was not enough to keep the Steelers in the hunt for a Super Bowl. The Denver Broncos and New England Patriots will face off it what just might be the last game Peyton Manning and Tom Brady play against one another. In the NFC the Carolina Panthers will take on a dangerous Cardinals team that is looking for a Super Bowl.
