Seattle Seahawks Rumors: Is Marshawn Lynch Heading To Retirement After This Season?

Marshawn Lynch and the Seattle Seahawks have been heading for a divorce for quite some time however it has been messier than people have anticipated.

Now as Lynch nears 30 the talk of his retirement has amped up significantly possibly because of the fact that the Seahawks really should consider releasing him because of his cap hit in 2016 and beyond.  But it is not just that, Lynch's body has been unable to bounce back from injury as it has in the past and this has affected his play this season. Lynch rushed for well under 1,000 yards, in fact he did not even make it to 500 and to top it off he had 10 less touchdowns than he did a season prior.

The Seahawks still made it to the playoffs and found a young runner in Thomas Rawls who did a solid job carrying the load in the middle of the season after Lynch went down.

When Lynch finally made his triumphant return he only had 6 carries, some people say game flow, other people say the Panthers defense but Beast Mode was never a victim of game flow, he made the game flow and would bring the Seahawks with him. Now it appears the physicality of the position has taken a toll on him. Lynch may be pondering retirement but it would not surprise anyone to see him return to the NFL for one final full season.
