Sam Bradford Free Agent Targets: NY Jets, San Francisco 49ers, Cleveland Browns, Houston Texans Options For Quarterback?

Sam Bradford is set to hit free agency and teams like the NY Jets, San Francisco 49ers, Cleveland Browns and Houston Texans could be interested in signing the quarterback if he doesn't return to the Philadelphia Eagles.

Bradford is hitting free agency at the age of 28 and that should make him an appealing target to teams if he does not stay with the Eagles. New Eagles head coach Doug Pederson had praise for Bradford in his opening press conference and multiple players on the roster have said that Bradford is interested in re-signing. The main factor with Bradford coming back to Philly could be money, as reports from earlier in the season had the quarterback looking for $25 million per year for an extension.

Pederson said to NJ Advance Media that Bradford would "love to be back" with the Eagles and tight end Zach Ertz echoed those sentiments in interviews after he signed a new contract. Chip Kelly brought in Bradford last year in a trade with the Rams and if he stays with the Eagles, it could be on a new contract or with the franchise tag. ESPN reporter Phil Sheridan writes that the Eagles could potentially move on from Bradford if they "are convinced they can get a legit quarterback in the draft."

Bradford put up solid numbers with the Eagles last season, throwing for 3725 yards, 19 touchdowns and 14 interceptions while completing 65 percent of his passes. Bradford had 10 touchdowns over the final seven games of the season and he proved he could stay healthy after dealing with serious knee injuries the previous two years. If the Eagles don't end up signing back Bradford, he likely will have a number of suitors on the free agent market.

Pro Football Focus lists the 49ers, Texans, Browns and Jets as potential destinations for Bradford if he doesn't sign back with the Eagles. Chip Kelly brought in Bradford when he was in Philly and he could consider making the move again in San Francisco. There are a ton of questions about Colin Kaepernick and his future and that could lead Kelly to target Bradford in free agency this winter.

The Browns appear to be moving on from Johnny Manziel and while the team could draft a quarterback to develop, Bradford could also be a free agent target. The Browns reportedly tried to trade for Bradford before the Eagles did last year and they could pick up on that interest again. The Texans used four different starters last season and likely will look at upgrades at the position this winter. Bradford could find it appealing to throw to DeAndre Hopkins for the next few years.
