Brook Lopez Will Miss Tuesday's Nets vs. Knicks Game

Brooklyn Nets center Brook Lopez will not play in Tuesday's matchup against the New York Knicks, according to general manager Billy King.

Also according to King, Lopez likely won't play in Wednesday's game against the Toronto Raptors. Lopez suffers from a mild right foot sprain that has caused him to miss the last five games. He practiced in a 5-on-5 Monday, but isn't comfortable enough to play in a game yet, King said.

"There's nothing wrong with his foot MRI-wise," King said, adding that Lopez hasn't had a setback. "It's just him getting ready to play in an NBA game.

"It's a long season and we want to get him back where he's the best to play."

Lopez has been out since Nov. 28, and since underwent a battery of tests -- including a precautionary MRI -- that showed the injury was unrelated to the two right foot fractures he suffered last season. So far this season he's been averaging 18.5 points, 6.8 rebounds and 2.5 blocks per game.

The Nets once again will start Andray Blatche and Reggie Evans up front against the Knicks.
