Reading will look to get over their heart-breaking loss to Manchester City at the weekend when they host a formidable Swansea side in their English Premier League game on Boxing Day.
Reading are currently rooted to the bottom of the table on eight points from 18 matches, while Swansea, after their resolute 1-1 draw against Manchester United at the weekend, are 11th on 24 points.
Reading manager Brian McDermott has called on the home support to back his side, as they look to beat the drop.
"We've got Swansea on Boxing Day and then West Ham a couple of days later and we're looking forward to them," McDermott told the club's official website.
"We massively need our fans with us, they took so much credit for getting us over the line last season and we need them to be with us again.
"It was tough to take on Saturday, but one thing I've found over the last few months is that I'm a resilient person and the players are too. You have to be in this job.
"Swansea are a good side, we've played them already this season and were 2-0 up away from home against them. We're looking forward to another full house.
"We have to keep battling. The way we conducted ourselves against the Champions was excellent. We are confident with 20 games to go that if we play like that we can get results.
"This season, everything that could have gone against us has gone against us. I won't exactly wish 2012 away because we got promoted to this league, but I'm looking forward to moving on now and getting a bit of a break because we haven't had one this season."
Reading have no fresh injuries from the loss to Manchester City, but Jason Roberts and Sean Morrison remain sidelined.
Pablo Hernandez could make a return for Swansea, but defender Angel Rangel is ruled out for another game.
