Los Angeles Lakers New: Dwight Howard And Pau Gasol Out Indefinitely

Trouble continues to loom over the Los Angeles Lakers as they'll now be without center Dwight Howard and forward Pau Gasol indefinitely as reported by the team.

Howard suffered a torn labrum in his right shoulder in Sunday's 112-105 loss to the Denver Nuggets and will be re-examined later in the week, according to the team.

He tied a career high with 26 rebounds and added 14 points and four blocks in 41 minutes of playing despite the injury, but remained to have his shoulder heavily wrapped in ice after the game.

Howard originally hurt the shoulder in the second half of the Lakers' 107-102 loss to the Los Angeles Clippers on Friday after getting tangled up with Caron Butler.

His injury comes in the midst of circulating rumors about a locker room altercation with teammate Kobe Bryant, where it was reported that Bryant agreed with criticism made by former Laker Shaquille O'Neal about Howard.

Meanwhile, Gasol is out after taking a blow to the face in the fourth quarter Sunday and suffered a concussion. He will not travel with the team.

Gasol has continued to struggle with his new role under coach Mike D'Antoni. However, despite being benched for the fourth time this season in the fourth quarter, Gasol says he continues to believe in what the team is trying to accomplish and says he will not demand a trade.
