The Manchester City loss will have to be put behind quickly.
Arsenal host Swansea in the FA Cup third round replay with the memories of the nightmare English Premier League game at the Emirates on Sunday still lingering.
Down to ten men with barely ten minutes on the clock, Arsenal were beaten 2-0 by the champions, even if the Gunners put on more of a fight in the second half.
Swansea now awaits, and Arsenal will also quickly want to forget the result the last time the Welsh side faced them at their home ground. Instead, all the focus must be on the display at the Liberty Stadium, where the Gunners battered Swansea for 45 minutes in the second half, but only managed to come away with a 2-2 draw, forcing a replay.
The Gunners are yet to make a single signing in the January window, with Theo Walcott still to agree on a new contract, although that is thought to be imminent. Arsene Wenger is not expected to ring in the changes, meaning the crux of the team that played nearly 90 minute with ten men, should get another run out.
Tomas Rosicky and Mikel Arteta are ruled out, with the Spanish midfielder's injury not as bad as initially expected, meaning he will be out for less than three weeks. Laurent Koscielny will also miss the game through suspension, after his red card against City.
"Arteta's injury could be shorter than three weeks because it's a minor calf strain," Wenger said. "It's a light grade one so it could be quicker than three weeks.
"Rosicky is still out. He has a little calf problem. I wanted to involve him tomorrow (Wednesday) night but it's too short."
Another concern for Arsenal must be the form of Santi Cazorla, who after making a bright start to life in England, has been found wanting one too many times in the past few games. Cazorla, no doubt is an outstanding talent, but the Arsenal fans will be hoping for a little bit more consistency and incisive passing from the former Villarreal man.
One player who is getting better with each game though is Jack Wilshere, and Wenger believes the youngster can make all the difference for Arsenal.
"He has a low centre of gravity, he uses it well and gets in front of people," Wenger said. "When you provoke people, sometimes you get hit. That can happen.
"I trust my eyes on (Wilshere's burst of speed) and I would say that if you have seen the game against Man City, you are confident that he can pass people.
"One month ago you could see he would have to fight with his body to get past people. Against Man City he looked comfortable doing that."
Swansea manager Michael Laudrup is confident of picking up a win against Arsenal. "The league is the most important competition," he said. "But I said at the start of the season that I like playing in the cups.
"Wednesday is another game, but it is an important one and we'll be trying to win it. We know we can win there and those types of results give you confidence.
"Arsenal haven't won a trophy for nearly eight years so they will be doing everything they can to win the game and progress.
"But it's because we've won games that we are playing so regularly. The better you do, the bigger the expectations. The players are really enjoying it."
Swansea have no injury worries, although new signing Roland Lamah is not eligible to play, as he was not registered prior to the original third round tie a little over a week ago.
"Everyone should be fit, which is good news," he said. "We have to use the squad rather than rest players, and we have done that with great success so far this season.
"Whatever happens, the team I put out will be a competitive one and I feel that most of the squad feel important to the team right now."
Expected lineups: Arsenal: Szczesny; Sagna, Mertesacker, Vermaelen, Gibbs; Diaby, Wilshere; Oxlade-Chamberlain, Cazorla, Podolski; Walcott.
Swansea: Vorm; Rangel, Chico, Williams, Davies; Britton, Ki; Hernandez, De Guzman, Dyer; Michu.
Prediction: 3-2 to Arsenal
