Rob Gronkowski was caught partying earlier this month in Las Vegas while healing his broken arm and on Wednesday he made somewhat of an apology, as a picture surfaced of him wearing a shirt that read "Sorry For Partying".
According to Yahoo Sports, Gronkowski was in Orlando where he took a picture with a fan while wearing the shirt. Earlier in the day Patriots lineman Logan Mankins said he had no problems with the partying by the tight end and his antics off the field.
The picture was taken with a fan Tarah Maciel on Sunday at Universal Studios in Orlando and was posted on Twitter later on. The tight end's shirt was referring to his antics earlier in Las Vegas when he was caught on video wrestling with a broken arm.
On Wednesday, Mankins came out and defended Gronkowski, saying that he has no problems with the tight end or the video of him wrestling in Las Vegas.
"I know we are referring to Gronk and partying and doing wrestling moves and stuff. I think Gronk's having fun," Mankins said Tuesday during a charitable appearance at the Kraft Family Blood Donor Center.
Gronkowski broke his arm for the second time this season in the playoffs for the Patriots and he was spotted by TMZ on video earlier this month body slamming a friend with a wrestling move in a Las Vegas nightclub while having his broken arm in a sling.
Mankins is a team captain and a long-term team veteran, meaning his opinion holds some weight in the locker room and among other players. He said that Gronkowski isn't breaking the law and he has no issues with how he acts away from football.
"The headlines might not be what a lot of people want, but at least he's not getting DUIs or doing things that are against the law. I don't think he's hurting anyone."
"Hopefully he doesn't hurt his arm because then that would be bad. You know Gronk, he is a big meathead that likes to party and play football. I think that's what he's doing."
According to TMZ.com, Gronkowski was seen on video in a Las Vegas nightclub pulling a body slam wrestling move on one of his friends, landing on the broken forearm he suffered in the playoffs. He stood up afterwards and motioned he was okay, but it is likely head coach Bill Belichick did not like it.
The Patriots lost to the Ravens in the AFC Championship game before heading into New Orleans and defeating the 49ers for the Super Bowl championship. Gronkowski was originally hurt in Week 11 against the Miami Dolphins and returned for the playoffs against the Houston Texans.
