The NFL Titans are not for sale, but the Cedar Rapids (Iowa) Titans of the Indoor Football League are, as a co-owner of the team has put his stake in the franchise on Craigslist.
According to the Associated Press, Titans team owner Mike Polaski has put his stake of the team online on Craigslist to sell to the highest bidder. He owns 20 percent in the two-year-old Indoor Football League team and said that he is looking for $80,000 after business has suffered as a restaurant owner in the area.
Chris Kokalis, who is the team's general manager and co-owner, said that Polaski was originally a big part of why the team came to Cedar Rapids and that the sale will have no impact at all on the operations of the team, which is currently playing its season.
According to the AP, the Titans are 3-0 and sit in first place in IFL's United Conference and face the Wyoming Cavalry on Friday. The team came into being in 2011 and the owners include Chris Kokalis, Bob Sullivan, Mike Polaski, Angelique Wonders and Kenneth Moninski.
The team joined the league in 2012 as an expansion team and is one of nine franchises in the Indoor Football League. The team plays home games at the Cedar Rapids Ice Arena and will later move to the renovated, U.S. Cellular Center in 2014.
Last season the team went 4-10, but are off to a much better start this season. This is not the NFL Titans being sold.
