MMA can be an odd sport for some, but sometimes things just get outright strange, as two Michigan fight promoters have come out and said that a fighter they thought died in a car crash is alive and well.

According to the Associated Press, the two promoters, Christos Piliafas and Scott DiPonio, said that they thought Charles Rowan previously died in a car crash last month and they raised over $1,000 at a benefit event in Traverse City to honor him after his death. The 25-year-old is apparently alive and well though and committing more crimes.

The report says that Rowan along with his girlfriend Rosalinda Martinez and their friend Michael Bowman were charged on Friday after holding up a gun shop about 100 miles away from where the fight was to take place. The report says each of three now face armed robbery and assault charges with intent to murder and now has requested a court-appointed attorney.

Piliafas is both a promoter and a fighter and he was upset with the entire satiation about being lied to.
