Chelsea Transfer News: Blues Prepare $38 Million Bid for Marouane Fellaini; Clyne is Latest Summer Target

Chelsea are confident of capturing Marouane Fellaini from Everton in the summer, while also targeting Southampton fullback Nathaniel Clyne.

The Blues are still looking for a manager to take over in the summer -- with Jose Mourinho looking like the most likely - but that has not stopped them from making plans for the summer, starting with sealing a move for long-term target Fellaini.

The Belgian international has been linked with a move to Stamford Bridge for a few seasons now, and despite the Blues missing out on the signing of the 25-year-old on a couple of occasions in the past, they could finally be set to land their man.

Chelsea are ready to make a £25 million ($38 million) bid for Fellaini, according to the Daily Star, with Everton reportedly ready to listen to offers.

The midfielder has also been linked with moves to Arsenal, Manchester United and Manchester City, but it looks like Chelsea will beat their rivals to the Everton man, with the European champions set to offer Fellaini a five-year deal worth around £4.5 million ($7 million) a year.

Fellaini has said his ambition is to play in the Champions League, and with Everton facing a tough fight from Tottenham, Chelsea and Arsenal for the top-four place, the Belgian might choose to leave the club if they were to receive a suitable offer.

The uncertain future surrounding manager David Moyes, who has interestingly also been linked with a move to Stamford Bridge, has not helped matters either, and has cast further doubt on Everton's ability to hang onto their best players come this summer.

Meanwhile, the Blues are looking at making a £7.5 million ($11.5 million) move for Clyne. The Southampton rightback has impressed in his first season in the Premier League, and Chelsea are looking at bringing in a rightback to compete with Cesar Azplicueta.

Branislav Ivanovic is the other option that the Blues have in that position, with Paulo Ferreira expected to leave at the end of the season, and bringing in someone like Clyne will help the Serbian to concentrate on just playing in his preferred central defensive position, rather than shuffling around at the back.
