Kevin Ware suffered a gruesome injury live on television for everyone watching the NCAA Tournament on Sunday and one person who knows exactly how he feels is former Washington Redskins quarterback Joe Theismann.
According to NFL.com, Theismann, who had his career ended by a broken leg hit from Lawrence Taylor, texted Ware about the injury and gave him support and advice. Theismann's injury came against the Giants on Monday Night Football and was one of the most gruesome in the NFL. The quarterbacks poke on "NFL AM" on Monday to speak about the injury.
"There will be a period of time where he thinks 'woe is me,'" Theismann said, before saying he thinks Ware should be able to come back eventually.
The report said that Theismann texted Ware and said that he would help with "anything he needed".
Another Louisville player who suffered a similar injury was football running back Michael Bush, who said he would also reach out to Ware. Bush suffered his injury in college that was similar to the surgery Ware had on Sunday.
"There's going to be times where he feels alone," Bush said on "NFL AM" on Monday. "I just want him to hang in there because it's going to tough."
