Oscar Pistorius is out on bail and currently awaiting trial for murder charges, but that has not stopped him from working out on the track, as a photo surfaced on Thursday that showed the double amputee running at the University of Pretoria.
According to Reuters, the photo was taken on March 24, the same week that his bail conditions were eased and the judge ruled he was allowed to travel for competitions, and showed Pistorius jogging around the tracjk at the school. Despite the photo, his family said that the Blade Runner is currently not in a formal training program and his uncle said that it was just a jog.
The 26-year-old can now travel to competitions as he awaits his trial for the premeditated murder Reeva Steenkamp on Valentine's Day. Pistorius has said the killing was a tragic mistake and that he had mistaken Steenkamp for an intruder and opened fire in a blind panic.
Prosecutors said he committed premeditated murder when he fired four shots into a locked toilet door, hitting 29-year-old Steenkamp as she cowered on the other side. She suffered gunshot wounds to her head, hip and arm.
"Oscar is not back on any official training program," the family statement said. "This may change in future, but this will be a decision taken by Oscar and Oscar alone."
