The Cardinals and Wolverines meet in the final game of March Madness. After three weeks following conference tournaments and the NCAA Basketball Tournament brackets, the action comes to a conclusion as Louisville, from the Midwest Region faces Michigan out of the South Region. Both teams are trying to win their first national championship since the 80's.
For Louisville, it could be their third, one they will win for teammate Kevin Ware, who has provided the team motivation through his mishap. The Wolverines, well, they want to bring glory back to Michigan as the school hasn't made any noise since the 1990's when the Fab 5 dominated the courts of Men's NCAA Basketball.
The Cardinals had to survive early struggles in their game against the 2013 Cinderella team, Wichita State Shockers. They won that game 72-68 clinching a chance to win the National Championship. For the Wolverine, they had to survive a late surge from the Syracuse Orange. Michigan spoiled the chance of having a Big East National Championship as they bounced Syracuse from contention.
Players to watch in both teams are Russ Smith, Peyton Siva and Luke Hancock. For the Wolverines, Tim Hardaway Jr., Trey Burke and Mitch McGary control the offensive contributions.
If you can't watch the game, check out live scoring updates as we bring you stats, play-by-play and more importantly, color commentary. This game could get chaotic and dramatic if the Louisville Press dominates the tempo and flow of the game.
