The Yankees will hold a moment of silence for those who died and suffered during the Boston Marathon Bombing on Monday as three people passed away and over 140 were injured from the explosion. Forget that the Red Sox and Yankees are bitter rivals, a rivalry that has cooled off in recent years, the Yankees will then sing Boston's traditional "Sweet Caroline" during the third inning of their game.
On the mound for New York, Ivan Nova, the right-hander the Yankees are waiting to see bounce back and prove he still has something left from his 2011 season where he went 16-4 with a 3.70 ERA. So far, he's had a rocky 2013 season. In his one start, he gave up four runs in 4.2 innings pitched for a 7.71 ERA.
On the mound for the Diamondbacks, right-hander Brandon McCarthy who has also struggled in his first two starts of the season. For McCarthy, he was unable to get past the St. Louis Caridnals and Pittsburgh Pirates allowing a total of 10 runs in 11.2 innings also for a 7.71 ERA.
