Michael Vick's brother Marcus got himself into hot water last year when he tweeted about wanting the Eagles to trade his brother and he has done it again, this time directing his social media profile towards the Arizona Cardinals and the "Fruit Tarts" on their team.
According to Yahoo, Vick tweeted on Monday about the team, saying that the Cardinals need to watch out as they have a bunch of "Fruit Tarts" on the team. His grammatical errors notwithstanding, the tweet may have been directed at former Cardinals safety Kerry Rhodes, as rumors started to circulate that he may be gay after pictures appeared online of him and his former assistant on vacation.
Vick wrote: "Those Arizona Cardinals got a brunch of Fruit Tarts on there team..... Watch out for the pile on pumps this year!!!"
The quote has a bit more resonance now as the reports came about four NFL players possibly coming out as gay and things like what Vick said do not help players feel better about coming out. Rhodes has denied that he is gay and that the pictures show him and his team out on vacation while working on his business opportunities.
"Photos have been circulating of my former assistant and I that have caused some rumors regarding my sexuality, and I wanted to address the situation. ... I am not gay. ... The shots were taken during a past vacation in a casual environment with my entire business team," Rhodes said.
Vick has been a bust when it comes to the NFL, as he was kicked off his college team and never could make it onto an NFL roster and stick it out there. The tweet adds more attention to both Marcus and Michael and offers nothing but ignorance about the entire situation.
