The NFL draft is the biggest event of the 2013 offseason and after weeks of speculation and guessing of when and where many players could be drafted, teams will make their official selections starting Thursday, April 25 when the draft begins at Radio City Music Hall in primetime.
This year the first round will be on Thursday starting at 8 pm and the NFL will be joined by some Hollywood names like Kevin Costner and Dennis Leary, as the two are preparing to shoot scenes at the event for a new film called "Draft Day" that features Costner as the Cleveland Browns general manager trying to navigate through a draft.
The second and third rounds of the draft will be on Friday starting at 6:30 pm, while the last three rounds will be on Saturday April 27 starting at 12 pm noon on ESPN and NFL Network. The NFL Network will also be airing weekday specials leading up to the draft each night called "Path to the Draft".
The first teams to draft are the Kansas City Chiefs, Jacksonville Jaguars, Oakland Raiders, Philadelphia Eagles, Detroit Lions, Cleveland Browns, Arizona Cardinals, Buffalo Bills, New York Jets and the Tennessee Titans in the top 10. Following is San Diego, Miami, Tampa Bay, Carolina and the New Orleans Saints at 15.
The event will also have heightened security after the events that occurred in Boston, the league announced on Tuesday. While it already is usually a heavily secured event, all staff will be on higher alert due to the marathon explosion bombing.
